Cadillac Car

Cadillac was founded in 1902 and is sold in more than 50 countries all round the world mainly in North America. Cadillac is owned by the General Motors and is the second most oldest automobile manufacturer after Buick in America. Cadillac was founded by Henry Leland who was a mechanic and an entrepreneur named the company after his ancestor. Cadillac was established as the America's luxury cars and was known for its foundation for mass production and interchange ability of precision parts.

Cadillac used many accessories in automobiles including full electrical systems, clashless manual transmissions and steel roofs. Cadillac bagged the precious Dewar Trophy from the Royal Automobile club as successfully passing the reliability test in 1908 and another award for introducing electric lighting in a production vehicle. Cadillac introduced a V8 engine with 70 horsepower in its cars to achieve 65 miles per hour, being the fastest at that time. In 1930 Cadillac introduced engines with V-16 engine with a 45 degree overhead valve, 452 cubic inches and 165 horse power and also the V8, V16 and V12 made cadillac as the Standard of the World. Previously the car roofs were fabric covered wood but Cadillac used the all steel roof for the passenger car and implemented designed style bodywork and shatter resistant glass. Cadillac introduced the first fully air conditioned and heater system in 1964 for climatic control.

Cadillac offered warning system to alert for failed light bulbs and driver airbags were offered in Cadillac models in the years between 1974 to 1976. Cadillac aimed at precise manufacturing and reliability and making better vehicles than its competitors. Cadillac included in its model line up the rear and all wheel drive sedans, roadsters, crossovers and SUVs. Earlier Cadillac was known for its plush and soft riding sedans which was appealing to the senior and older age group but with its new line ups with stylish designs and looks with multi features and powerful engines it is becoming very popular among youngsters.

Cadillac suggested the XTS Platinum concept in 2010 and to build FWD/AWD sedan and production of the three series competitor RWD/AWD Alpha platform in 2013. Cadillac has planned to reveal the next CTS which will move a long wheelbase version of the Alpha platform. The current Cadillac passengers cars which are popular are the CTS, CTS sports wagon, DTS and luxury cars are STS and XLR and crossover cars are Escalade and Escalade Hybrid.
