Fiat Linea is introduced as a world car in developing countries by the Italian automaker Fiat. Fiat Linea is a small family car which replaced the aging Marea as a saloon in the Fiat range in 2007. It was designed by Fiat Style Centre and co-developed by Tofas. Fiat Linea is similar to small cars like the Ford Focus, Mazda and Vauxhall and Opel Astra. It was launched in Brazil in 2008 and was flexible for the Brazilian market like using petrol or ethanol. Fiat Linea was launched in India in 2009 and runs in a different segment and has different competition in Brazil and India. In Brazil it had rivals like Honda Civic, Chevrolet Vectra, Toyota Corolla, Citroën C4 Pallas, Nissan Sentra and Ford Focus and in India it had rivals like Ford Fiesta, Honda City and Hyundai Accent.

Fiat Linea is equipped with a Microsoft Windows Mobile-based system with Multilanguage voice recognition and speech functions. A USB stick with music files on it can be plugged into the built-in USB port and music can be played. Fiat Linea is the first car in Brazil that has an integrated GPS system and was launched in South Africa in 2009. It is available in four different variants of Fiat Linea which are Active, Dynamic, Emotion and Emotion Pack and all these variants are available with both petrol and diesel engine option. Some Standard features of Fiat Linea not found in many other cars include: automatic climate control, with steering mounted controls, speed sensitive front wipers and volume control, dual rear AC vents, Advanced Driver Information System.

Fiat is aiming the Linea towards the Japanese cars, such as Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla in Brazil which offers VIP services for Linea owners, such as special exclusive lines and exclusive attendants for Linea owners. The Fiat Linea has competition with subcompact sedans like the Honda City, Ford Fiesta 1.6S, Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Suzuki SX4. Fiat boasts of an extensive and growing sales network in India with its partnership with TATA Motors. The Fiat Linea brings you streamlined contours and the finest in Italian styling. It has new-age advanced T-Jet engine and revolutionary Multijet and Fire engines, safety features and a series of technological innovations. The Fiat Linea confirms the brand’s intention to create a new Fiat family feeling, inaugurated with the Grande Punto and continued with the Fiat Bravo, with the forward, sloping windscreen, the drop-shaped headlights and the large front end sporting the new Fiat logo.
