Honda CR-V Pictures | Honda CR-V Car Reviews

The Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by the Japanese company Honda. It is derived from the Honda Civic to satisfy a public demand for a sport-utility vehicle (SUV) from Honda. There are discrepancies as to what "CR-V" stands for, with Honda sources in different markets citing different meanings. The most common meaning being "Civic Recreation Vehicle" since it is built on the Honda Civic Platform. Honda CR-V is amongst the most remarkable and bestselling vehicles from Honda globally, with an incredibly increasing growth rate which is capturing the market. The CR-V comes in three variants: 2WD, 4WD MT and 4WD AT. The CR-V, which was introduced in India within a few months of its global launch, has gained huge popularity and also embodies its importance in the Indian market.

The Honda CRV, the mid-sized SUV, has two choices for engines. The 2WD is powered by a 2.0L i-VTEC engine that generates 143 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque and engineered to give 6-speed manual transmission. The 2WD gives a cool mileage of 13.1km/l. The 4WD is mated with a 2.4L i-VTEC engine that generates a 218 Nm of torque and a power of 161 bhp. This engine comes with two types of gearbox in two different variants and gives a decent fuel economy of 11.1 km/l. Honda CR-V incorporates DBW (Drive-By-Wire), which provides control for smooth driving and gives the driver feel of smoothness on acceleration and at high speeds. The car has beautifully finished four-spoke steering, a central console with very good looking HVAC dials, a chilled storage box that also stores CDs and the unique handbrake design. Comfort on both front and rear seats is best in class, and they are spacious and supportive. Twin airbags, ABS, rear seats that recline, split and fold, a powerful air-con and massive luggage space are other strong points.

The Honda CR-V uses variable valve-timing, variable valve lift, Variable Timing Control (VTC) as well as an electronic throttle. The Honda CR-V's list of merits is long too just like its features. Its interior is intelligently engineered with great research and boasts high-quality materials. Its ride is comfortable and quiet, its handling is smooth and its crash test scores are amazingly superlative. True to form, it is one of the best choices available in the all-important areas of on-road drivability and practicality.
