Jaguar Car

Jaguar Cars Ltd., also better known simply as Jaguar is a British luxury car manufacturer, headquartered in Coventry, England. It has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Indian company Tata Motors Ltd. since March 2008 and is operated as part of the Jaguar Land Rover business since Jaguar was sold to Tata Motors. Jaguar was founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company by Sir William Lyons in 1922, which was originally making motorcycle sidecars before switching to passenger cars.

Jaguar is famous for its sports cars. The name was changed to Jaguar after World War II due to the unfavourable connotations of the SS initials in the company's name. Following several changes of ownership, Jaguar was acquired by Ford Motor Company in 1989 and by Tata Motors in India in 2008 and since then it has been proffering its Indian customers sumptuous models like XJ, XF and XK. The first Jaguar cars were designed with the choice of left-side driving controls. In the mid 1950s, Jaguar was known only for sports and luxury cars but now it is having huge range of luxury passenger cars. The company has had major success in sports car racing, particularly in the Le Mans 24 Hours. In the 1999, Ford decided that Jaguar would be the corporation's Formula One entry. Ford bought out the Stewart Grand Prix team and rebranded it as Jaguar Racing for the 2000 season. In 2009, Tata Motors launched Jaguar-Land Rover in India. Some of the most famous Jaguar cars in India are – Jaguar XJ, Jaguar XF and Jaguar XK. Jaguar XF and Jaguar XJ are the very successful models of this company. Following that, Jaguar plans to produce the coupe version of XJ and XF. Apart from that, the company also plans to produce the convertible version of new XF coupe. Jaguar also plans to release the smallest sports car Jaguar XE, which will give tough competition to the sports cars of Porsche and Audi.

The Jaguar brand has been revitalised in the past two decades, with a new focus on luxurious performance cars that outclass the competition from its famous sports cars. The Jaguar logo is well designed in such a way that a Jaguar is leaping over the letters “JAGUAR”, which symbolizes the speed, power and swiftness of the creature as well as the car like its breakthrough sports cars which have speed and power. There is no doubt Jaguar will continue to focus on innovative, seductive performance well into the future as it is already pushing the boundaries of design and sustainability to its extreme level.
