Jeep Car

Jeep is an automobile marque of Chrysler. It is the oldest off-road vehicle brand, with Land Rover coming in second. The original vehicle which first appeared as the prototype Bantam BRC which became the primary light 4-wheel-drive vehicle of the US Army and allies during the World War II and post war period. Jeep has its headquarters situated in Toledo, Ohio in United States and was founded in 1941. It has many vehicles serving military and civilian roles and are popular choices for mountains and long route driving. Jeeps were also used by the U.S. Postal Service in the 20th century for mail services. There are various excellent and high quality Jeep car models like Cherokee and Commander in India which are very popular for their engine performance, features, Interior, and car design which are tough on roads.


The first of the jeeps was built for American Army and the model was Bantam BRC. This brand was used by nearly all the divisions of the army. Jeep's advertisements have always emphasized on their vehicle's off-road capabilities. Today, the Wrangler is one of the few remaining four-wheel-drive vehicles with solid front and rear axles. These axles are known for their durability and strength. During the World War two Jeeps were being supplied to the United Kingdom and Russian Red Army. The design of the Jeep has been hailed by many designers and experts as the most exclusive and utility based of all designs in automobile. In 1963, Jeeps were the first automobiles to offer four-wheel drive with an automatic transmission.

Two years later, Jeep became the first sport-utility brand to offer a V-8 engine. The 1973 Grand Wagoner, arguably the first luxury SUV, would later offer the first completely automatic full-time four-wheel drive system. The 2005 Grand Cherokee brought newer, electronically controlled differentials for better off-road capabilities, as well as more powerful base and optional engines. Jeep created a new segment with the introduction of the Jeep Cherokee, the first Unibody four-door compact SUV and a true car-like alternative. Jeep developed the M715 1.25-ton army truck in 1965, a militarised version of the civilian J-series Jeep truck which was to serve heavy duty purpose of the army, built extensively for Vietnam.

Today, it serves other countries, and is still being produced by Kia under license. Jeeps have been built under various licence by various manufacturers around the world including Mahindra in India, EBRO in Spain, and several in South America. Mitsubishi built more than 30 different Jeep models in Japan between 1953 and 1998.
