Maruti 800 is a city car manufactured by Maruti Udyog in India. It is a revised version of of the Suzuki Alto. Over 2.5 million Maruti 800's have been sold since its launch in 1983. Maruti Suzuki 800 is India's iconic car that had actually put India on wheels. A Euro III emission compliant version of the car was released in 2005 to meet Indian emissions regulations. An LPG version of the vehicle was also released in 2008. It is available as petrol variant in both standard and air-conditioned versions. The front of the car has a stylish trapezoid look. The thinner and narrower seats permit 4 persons to seat comfortably. The car has sliding front seats, new head restraints, glove compartment and front door pocket, floor and room carpets, airflow controls, side impact beams, front wipers, windshield washer and head lamp levelling device. The Maruti 800 is popular in India as "the smallest car" due to its tightly spaced interior. The Maruti 800 runs on both LPG and petrol with a convenient petrol/LPG switching option that ensures zero power drops while changing fuel modes.

The car produces approximately 37 bhp (28 kW) of power and runs on 12 inch (305 mm) wheels. Curb weight is 650 kg (1433 lb) and 4 passengers fit in comfortably. Top speed is in the region of 125 km/h (78 mph) and this car is known to deliver fuel economy better than 20 km/l (47 mpg) on clear and plain roads. The New Maruti Suzuki 800 also ensures new age security and superb safety to drive away the car with total peace of mind. The specifically placed crumple zone absorbs the impact energy in case of an accident. Furthermore, the high mount stop lamp, collapsible steering column, rear seat belts, and side impact beams improves safety of the car as well as the passengers. It is also equipped with an option of headlamp levelling that allows the driver to adjust the beam angle to provide optimum visibility.
