Mazda is an automotive company named as Mazda Motor Corporation founded in 1920. Mazda is a company manufactured by Japanese manufacturer having head quarters at Fuchu, Aki, Hiroshima in Japan. Mazda is known for producing 1.3 million vehicles in 2007 to be sold world wide where majority was produced in Japan and the rest by the other plants of Mazda spread internationally.

Mazda was initially named as Toyo Cork Kogyo Co ltd which was latre renamed as Toyo Kogyo Ltd in 1927. Mazda as Toyo Kogyo manufactured machine tools to vehicles and weapons for the military namely 35 Type 99 rifle. Mazda was named so in 1984 though all the vehicles were named as Mazda from the very beginning and introduced a new model Mazda R360 in 1960 with Mazda engines in 1962. For Mazda's unique identity it introduced Wankel rotatory engine from American motor companies. Mazda introduced a Mazda Cosmo sport in 1967, Mazda has become the only manufacturer for using Wankel type engines mainly by attrition. In 1968 Mazda entered Canada market and in 1970 it entered American market and was of great success with the introduction of models like Mazda Rotary Pickup made solely for North American buyers. Mazda is the only automaker to make Wankel powered pickup trucks and rotary powered buses. Mazda continued with rotary success but later focused on the sports vehicles rather than mainstream power plant. Starting with the lightweight RX-7 in 1978 and continuing with the modern RX-8, Mazda has continued its dedication to this unique powerplant. Autozam, Eunos, and Efini had also redesgined its emblem from time to time which appeared on various models of Mazda. Mazda is finding other uses from plastic to milk in its vehicles as it aims to be more environmentally friendly. Mazda plans to introduce its innovations in bioplastic internal consoles and bio-fabric seats in Mazda5 model.
