Mercedes-Benz is an automotive company of German manufacturers and one of the leading company in the global market. Mercedes-Benz was founded in 1886 by Karl Benz who made the first petrol powered car and patented as Benz Patent Motorwagen. Mercedes-Benz is known for the manufacture of buses, coaches, and trucks apart from cars. Mercedes-Benz is under the division of its parent Daimler AG company. In 1926, Karl Benz and Daimler decided to merge the company and the Daimler Benz company was formed under which the first Mercedes-Benz vehicles were produced. Mercedes-Benz is one of the oldest and successful company of the world and is also known for the safety innovations and technology introduction which later became common.

Mercedes-Benz's distribution agreement with Studebaker Packard Corporation of USA where it was agreed that Mercedes-Benz can have access to its dealer network in USA, handle shipment of vehicles and give Studebaker compensation for each car in return and also use Mercedes-Benz's name in its advertisement which stressed in quality over quantity. Later when Studebaker left the automobile business its dealer converted into the Mercedes-Benz's dealers. Mercedes-Benz had its subsidiary division as Mercedes-Benz AMG in 1998 integrated by DaimlerChrysler. Mercedes-Benz is renowned in its quality and durability and after several problems again emerged from 25th position to 5th position by improving its quality and surpassing quality leader Toyota. Mercedes-Benz also won several awards for its models and won the Platinum Plant Quality Award for Mercedes. Mercedes-Benz produced limited number of sports car with McLaren Cars.

Mercedes-Benz used the numerical representation of motor displacement with the letters placed thereafter to denote the type of motor, fuel delivery, and body. The last number is always zero. "E" denoted the fuel injection system in the petrol motors while "D" signified for diesel motors. The latest models of Mercedes-Benz are Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Mercedes-Benz SL Class. Mercedes-Benz is preparing for the widespread of electric vehicles in UK by installation of recharging points across their dealer networks. Mercedes-Benz is known for the innovations of internal combustion engine, carburettor, front engine and powered rear wheels, brakes on all four wheels, safety cell, traction control and airbags. Mercedes-Benz is active in three motor sports they are Formula Three, DTM and Formula One.
