Scion Car

The Scion is a brand of automobiles built by Toyota Motor Corporation in Torrance, USA. Scions are economy cars, intended to be marketed in North America, and were first shown to the public at the New York Auto Show in 2002. The first Scion models, the xA hatchback and xB wagon, went on sale in California in 2003 then followed a sports coupe, the tC. A successor to the xA, the xD, came next. In 1999, Toyota launched Project Genesis, an effort to attract younger buyers. The effort, which included the introduction of the Toyota Echo economy car, along with late generation Toyota MR-2 and Toyota Celica models, was unsuccessful and was later cancelled in 2001. In response, Toyota chose to launch a separate marque, an effort called Project Exodus with design assistance from a Los Angeles based digital design company, Fresh Machine, to develop the brand, logo and launch website. This project became known as Scion.

The sports model of Scion included the tC. The company has projects like the Scion Hako which is a concept car. The company has already launched the next generation of cars in the market like the xB and xD in 2006. Its current models include:
Scion xB, Scion tC, Scion xD, Scion xA, Scion t2B, Hako Coupe, Scion iQ
Of the three Scion models, the tC is probably the most interesting. It’s affordable and is much more inspiring to drive that other Toyotas. The tC is reminiscent of a long-lost past, when coupes ruled the road. The Xb is in the same category as the Nissan Cube, the Kia Soul. The xD is the entry-level Scion. Its basic equipment level is actually quite complete. Scion also uses sales tools such as "Pure Price" and monospec trim levels for make thr process short and simple for customers to buy a car, with a wide selection of factory and TRD accessories. Scions have one standard trim level (monospec) and are designed to be uniquely customized for the driver. Scion brand of Toyota is highly innovative and is always up to something different than the other car companies.

One of the reasons for the success of this brand is its aggressive marketing strategy to reach out the generation Y consumers by using all the available platforms to reach them with campaigns, online sites and advertising, magazines etc.
