Skoda Car

Skoda Auto is a part of the international Volkswagen Group and is based in Czech Republic. It manufacturers and markets passenger car throughout the world. Skoda Auto started its operations in India as Skoda Auto India Pvt. Ltd. with two dealerships in Mumbai and Delhi in 2001.
Models of Skoda include: Skoda Fabia, Skoda Superb, Skoda Laura, Skoda Octavia Combi, Skoda L&K, Skoda RS

The two Skoda founder were Vaclav Laurin, who was a mechanic and Vaclav Klement who was a bookseller. Both of them were bicycle enthusiasts and they started producing the bicycles of their own designs and attained success in it. Later on they moved on to motorcycles and automobiles gradually. Skoda started as a bicycle manufacturer in 1895 and later was named Laurin & Klement Co. and started manufacturing motorcycles in 1899. In 1905, the company released its first car model, the Voiturette A, a very successful car. Due to economic problems, skoda merged with Pilsen Škoda Co. in the 1920s.

Later in Skoda established a joint venture with Volkswagen and it’s now a subsidiary of this carmaker. Skoda became a whole subsidiary of Volkswagen in 2000. Skoda started to participate in the FIA World Rally in 1999. Skoda now has several assembly and manufacturing plants including one in the Indian city of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. It was set up in 2001, as Skoda India Pvt Ltd. Skoda Fabia is the latest entrant in the market in the small car segment and in no time it has become a market leader taking all competitors by surprise. Skoda Laura is luxury sedan which is what you call as the owner's pride and envy of every onlooker. The Skoda Octavia is a premium sedan. Flaunting technology and class Skoda Superb is the new age ruler in the premium cars segment. In 2009, Skoda entered the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) for the first time, using the Fabia S2000.

It also has some concept cars in its range like Fabia Super, Joyster, Yeti II, Yeti, Roomster Concept, Tudor, Fabia Paris Edition, Ahoj, Felicia Golden Prague, 783 Favorit Coupe. Some Skoda models produced in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s became very popular that you can still encounter them on the roads. They have become favourite cars for collectors worldwide and many Skoda fan club members around the world can boast of owning one.
