Tata Car

Tata is India’s largest carmaker. Established in 1945, the company built its first car in 1954. Ratan Tata is the founder of Tata Motors. Now, apart from automobiles, it also produces trucks and buses. Tata made partnerships with several brands over the years, for example Daewoo and Jaguar. In 2005, a joint venture with Fiat Group Automobiles at Ranjangaon (Maharashtra) made it possible to produce and distribute Tata and Fiat vehicles using the same plant and retailers in India. Besides its home country India, Tata is present in the United Kingdom, South Korea, Thailand and Spain.

Tata Motors has a wide network of retailers and suppliers across India. It was in 1954 that the Tata Motors launched its first vehicle in collaboration with Daimler-Benz AG, the maker of Mercedes -Benz however, however, the collaboration ended in 1969. Tata has also formed several Joint Ventures with many small companies in various countries around the world.

One of the leading car makers of India, Tata Motors is recognized for its impressive line of cars and commercial vehicles which cater to all customers. The company features among the leading five medium and heavy commercial vehicle makers, besides gaining prominence in car making.
Tata motor offer passenger vehicles like safari, Nano, Manza, Indica etc. In the year 2009, the firm marked its name in the pages of automotive history by introducing the world's fuel efficient and cheapest car - Tata Nano. Tata Motors is the largest automobile company in India; second largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in the world; second largest truck manufacturer in the world; and fourth largest bus manufacturer in the world. The Tata Sumo was launched in the 1994 and Tata safari in 1998 which was India first SUV. Tata recently has come up with Marco polo low floor buses which are largely been used for public transport in India. Tata's latest versions of passenger cars are:
Tata Manza, Tata Land Rover, Tata Jaguar, Indica Vista, Tata Indica Dicor. It also has electric version of cars like Tata Indica, Tata Ace. Tata Motors also has its name in concept vehicles. On 17 Sept 2010 Tata motors presented to the DTC Four CNG - Electric Hybrid lowfloored Starbuses used for commonwealth games and low floor buses for its public transportation. Motor Development International (MDI) of France has developed the world's first prototype of a compressed air car, named OneCAT. In 2007, MDI owner Guy Negre was reported to have said that it has "the backing of Tata" for this project.
