Indian manufacturer Tata Motors manfactured Tata Indigo as a compact car. The first generation of Tata Indigo, Indigo Sedan was introduced in 2002. It was launched with a Turbodiesel and Petrol engines and later was facelifted in 2006 with dual chamber headlamps and different bumpers. Indigo Marina was unveiled at the New Delhi Auto Expo 2004 as a station wagon version with front and rear cabin lamp with spot reading lamp, HVAC system, power windows, body colored bumpers, roof rails, rub rails on door, full wheel covers, digital clock, retractable luggage cover and side impact beams. Tata Indigo XL was a Long Wheel Base Version introduced in 2007 with stretched wheelbase, powered front seats, rear air conditioning console with separate controls, all four power windows with auto power down function.

Tata Indigo CS was launched at the 2008 Auto Expo in New Delhi as a compact sedan with New styled Front Grille, front and rear bumper ,Soft touch finest quality seats ,Centre Cluster & Air Conditioning Controls , Anti-glare Inner Rear View Mirror, Beige interiors, new AC facia, reading lamp, and sporty steering wheel. The second generation was Indigo Manza launched in 2009 based on the Tata X1 platform with supports like USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, driver information system, steering mounted audio controls, ABS, Dual front airbags, engine immobilizer and central locking. It comes in four variants Aqua, Aura, Aura (ABS) and the Aura +. The present Tata Indigo comes in sedan, station wagon and estate versions. It is built on a steel monocoque frame, with comfort and luxury features. All the diesel variants of Tata Indigo has Indirect Ignition engine with Intercooler. Its exterior has Clear headlamps and trapezoidal taillights and longer wheelbase for spacious interiors and better storage space.

The interiors have contemporary design and the front seats come with added lumbar and thigh support. The safety features offered by Tata Indigo are anti-submarine front seats, child safety locks on the rear doors, an audio warning signal for the driver seat belt, central locking, a door open audio warning signal and a rear defogger. It is available in 5-speed Manual Transmission. Tata Indigo has various other features like power steering and power windows, body colored bumpers, rub rails on door, full fabric lining on seats, molded roof lining, full wheel covers and audio warning signal for driver seat belt.
